I guess if you didn’t know, I’m part of the BJD team for Animania this year and I thought it’ll just be useful if I made a sticky post on my blog for quick info.
Venue: Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh
Date: 17th – 18th September, 2011
Cherish Doll is giving ALL Animania attendees with bonus store points, whether you are a doll owner or not yet. So don’t forget to jot down your email on the day!
We also have 2 competitions going on based on this year’s theme ‘Fairytale: Beyond the woods…‘. There’s a photography one which requires all entries to somehow incorporate the theme and the other one is where the dolls’ attires are judged on the basis of which ones best suits the theme. Please see the DoA thread or the one on faireground for more info.
There’s also an Australian BJD survey which I’ve made and I’ld love for people in the hobby to fill out
I’ld also like to give a quick shout out to our sponsors for this year: Leeke World, Cherish Doll, Dollclans, Ningyotan and Moonteahouse

Warning: this post will contain a truck load of doll photos.
This year was the first time that I’ve lined up after the doors opened…and let me say that I will
I lined up at 9:30am and even though I had preregistered it still took me 1hr to get in
Luckily my sister’s friends were there before so we slipped in line :shinyeyes
. Their burgers are the best – so juicy and their sauce is really tasty
I also like the way they do their fries

There were so many beautiful dolls in lovely outfits
Makes me wish that I had dressed up my doll in something fancy haha. Since I was lazy I only brought one doll,
Reading about what happened in Japan was a bit depressing and then I had assessments & was busy the whole weeke :sweat2 I wanted to say last week that I send my wishes to everyone in Japan
My Japanese cultural club, Wasabi, had a BBQ fundraiser and people with donation boxes on Monday and they managed to raise $4000 in roughly 2 hours !!!!! I think that’s awesome and shows the spirit of our community
Studying at uni for 5 days a week means that I can’t work often (I only work 1 shift/week
/lazy) so I thought I should get some volunteer experience under my belt

But I haven’t been to the March event for like 2 years so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had to stay at the table all day since we had no volunteers to rotate watching the table with. But that was ok since the day went by pretty fast :buncheer
Since it was the smaller event, A and I just decorated the tables and I made signs lol
Can you spot them? :prince It took us like 2~3 hours to set everything up though
