Over the past few months I’ve become more interested in nail decoration and art so I was super excited to see this Australis polish on sale! It cost me less than $2. At the moment, I’m really liking simple nail designs or polishes with interesting glitter pieces wakuwaku

Milky Way is a jelly like white polish with colourful hex glitters of different sizes and mini blue glitter specks. The website describes using this as a topcoat but I put around 4 coats of polish in the photo below to created a layered look. I think the combination of colours and different glitter sizes adds a cute touch to your nails.

Each coat is quite sheer making it perfect for layering and I think there’s also a decent amount of glitter with each coat. It lasts pretty well without a top coat, I’ve worn it for a bit more than a week and I haven’t had any chipping.

It’s my first time buying from Australis but I will definitely keep my eye out on their products now!

And here’s a sneak peak of other glitter nail polishes I’ve gotten recently :chuuu

It’s been a few years since I’ve bought from ASOS but I placed an order with them recently since they had a 20% code for Australia day and I absolutely loved one of the tee designs I saw! My plan this year was to stick with simple plain design items so they’re easy to mix and match but I guess that’s already fading away haha.

With the AUD dropping in value to the USD, I think ASOS is a good site to buy from since they constantly have sales and discount codes are readily available. They also usually have booths at Orientation events at universities at Sydney (I’ve seen them at USYD, UTS and UNSW) so drop by when you can coz they usually have freebies. Another option is to sign up to UNiDAYS, where you can always get 10% off full priced items and there’s load of other discounts available. I’m not sure whether it’s restricted to Australians only, all I remember is that you need a valid university email address.

I’m really happy with this order- the fit and quality isn’t too bad, especially considering the price. I got 3 items for $41.10 which I think is a bargain!

Items

The items I got in this order were the:

This is the tee that led me to order from ASOS again! With my previous order everything was too big, even though I followed their size chart and I ended up disappointed, so this time I sized down. I think I’m usually a size AU6, I usually always buy tees in unisex sizes so I’m not too sure what I actually am haha. I actually ordered in this AU4 since they were sold out of size 6 and 8 so I thought I’ll just yolo and give it a try since it’s ment to be loose and boxy anyways. I was surprised to see that size 4 is still baggy on me, I thought it’ll be a bit tighter but I think it’s a pretty good fit for the way it’s meant to look. I think it also doesn’t look too cropped on me but then I have a short torso :3seal

I’m really pleased with the thickness of the tee as well, I tend to find that white tees are usually slightly sheer but this isn’t. Also it’s 100% cotton so it’s nice and comfy. Also really loving the graphic on the tee since I thought it’s cute and sweet :chuuu

The other tee I got is from a Swedish brand called Monki. It’s my first time hearing of them but browsing through their store it looks like they’ve got affordable basic and trendy items. It reminds me of American Apparel. I like the look and vibe of their outfits so I’ll be keeping an eye out on them :shinyred

I mainly just got this since I was looking for something cheap, simple yet interesting – and who can say no to unicorns? Their smallest size was XS (size 8), so it fits me loosely but not too baggy and I tucked it in the photo above of me wearing it. It’s more sheer and slightly thinner than ASOS tee I got and it’s made from 100% organic cotton. I think it’s a nice to wear tucked in or out.

And last up are these demin shorts! They’re made from a cotton blend (69% Cotton, 26% Polyester, 3% Viscose, 2% Nylon) and it’s pretty much true to colour (camera found it hard to pic up on the colours soon). I got them in size AU6 and they fit nearly perfectly – they’re looser around my hips and thighs compared to the model, but it’s just due to my body shape. They’re comfy and I love the colour and for less than $10 I can’t complain that much :XD

If you’re looking to update your wardrobe with quick buys I really suggest looking at ASOS! I think one of the hardest things with online shopping is figuring out what size best fits, especially if it’s your first time buying from the store and don’t want to hassle dealing with returns. A nice feature ASOS is that you can “view catwalk” on the page which gives you a look to see how it fits on the model and can maybe help you decide if you want to size up or down.
