And on that note, Happy Valentines Day!  Whether you spend it someone or not, I hope you have a great day 

First of all I got a new netbook - the Asus U31SD in black It was on sale with a 10% discount for Australia day so it only cost $703  My old netbook had started to slow down and overheat and I also felt that 10″ was too small, so I decided it was time for an upgrade.

As much as I love it there have been some frustrating issues Google chrome wouldn’t open when it was pinned at task bar and then it worked when I reinstalled Chrome from an anti-virus program  For the hot keys to work, I had to install another program and then the wifi button wouldn’t work but then it suddenly started to work  Also the netbook cover is a major finger print magnet  Maybe I’m just being picky about some things, but I would have thought that the programs that came with it should at least work lol.

But at least it’s running well now and I can install photoshop and iTunes without it slowing down so now I can draw in my bedroom  I just hope it can last me at least 2 years haha.

These are the items I recently purchased from Alphabeautyuk on eBay. I was pleasantly surprised that shipping only took a week

As you can see, I mainly got Kiss Me Heroine items I’ve heard quite a lot of good things about this brand so I decided I’ll try them out lol. Will this become my new favourite brand?  I’ll try my best to review them 

And this is the first major purchase for Feb, I gave in to impulse buying  But I really like his punky style haha. He also comes with heaps of graphic tees, a jacket and a cute back pack so I can play around with outfit 

I also got some items from Sephora and an Arpakasso alpaca (finally) but I’ll post about them when I get them lol 

I really like the location of the restaurant which is located along a wharf. And I think the place has a nice atmosphere  I’m so glad the weather was perfect! The food was also excellent and filling, I definitely want to go back another time 

Now onto the food photos! Because the menu was already set, I don’t really know the dish names so I’ll turn this entry into a photo post lol

This was a really nice mango/strawberry fruit drink which was thick and fruity 

I’m pretty sure these dishes were all sashimi, expect for the furthest dish at the back. That was rice and crab wrapped up in egg. It looks kinda like a pudding right? It was one of my favourite things to eat throughout dinner 

My mum said that this was one of their well known dishes? She called it a volcano lol. It’s like the “pudding” I described earlier, expect it’s sushi rolls covered in egg 

Tempura, Alaskan crab and karaage (I think) I really liked the tempura, it was fried exactly the way I love to eat it – light and crispy but not too oily 

My mum cooking wagyu beef  I think it’s always fun to cook this way at restaurants lol.

And finally dessert shots! Doesn’t this icecream cake log look tasty?  It’s like vanilla icecream with sponge cake.

I think this is a green tea cream brulee with red beans. It tasted really bland by itself, but nice with the icecream cake

1. What’s your favorite food?
I absolutely love corn – sweet, juicy goodness Corn in fried rice, udon, popcorn, baked corn – I love them all lol

2. Do you have any weird habits? If so, what is it?
I like snacking in my room and watching tv shows on my netbook  Not sure if it’s weird to eat in your bedroom, but my mum doesn’t approve of it haha…  But I like munching on something when I’m watching things 

3. Why do you blog?
I use my blog as an online and public journal  I like to take photos and remember what I did on certain occasions, so I thought why not blog? I think it’s also a nice way to reflect on the things that has happened with other people.

4. Who is your inspiration and why?
I guess it’s currently Apochi. I don’t really inspire to be like her but I like her eyemake and following her blog/twitter to see her updates. I think she looks really cute like a doll and her style is interesting though I’m not really into Kera fashion 

5. Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Neither, but if I had to choose I guess a dog person. I don’t really like animals.. but animal plushies are cute 

6. What do you feel like eating right now?
Nothing to be honest, I just came back from a really filling dinner 

7. How would you describe your wardrobe style?
Very random lol. I don’t really follow a certain fashion style, I usually buy whatever I like  I have a lot of graphic tees though since I usually wear jeans and a tee during semester 

Usually during the colder seasons, I’ll layer up (typical outfit consist a coat, cardigan, shirt, shorts/tights or jeans) 

8. What is your one favorite beauty product (skincare and/or makeup)?
Currently it’s my Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner It’s very inky, smooth and doesn’t smudge plus the pen cover is cute 

9. Do you have a favorite childhood book? If so, what is it?
Howl’s Moving Castle. I used to read it all the time when I was 12 (though I can’t remember why I liked it so much  )

10. What kind of music do you listen to?
I mainly listen to anything but I’m partial to rock – alternative, indie, post-hardcore. I love anything with a good solid beat  My favourite bands are FACT, andymori, AKB48, Fudanjuku and T-ARA 

11. What’s your favorite video game(s)?
Animal Crossing: City Folk, Lux Pain, The Last Window, Cooking Mama 3, Maple Story, Ragnarok Online and Pokemon Gold just to name a few. I love simulation, RPGs, novel type/mystery/crime solving games

If I had to describe my style I would describe it as “stationery style” lol When I was in my early and mid teens, I was highly influenced by Japanese stationery notepads produced by Q-lia, Crux etc with their cute, happy style It used to be a dream of mine to oneday produce stationery with my designs

I tend to be really messy with my sketches, so the final result usually looks much better and/or totally different  The 4 colours show which background you can choose to get 

Originally, the boy was something I created from the eeljinka meme lol so I just decided to reuse him and change his look  The girl’s outfit and colour scheme was inspired by a lot of the Autumn/Winter styles I’ve seen in Japanese magazines like Vivi, Popteen etc. I love those slightly muted colours  And the panda boy is Inga, from the anime series UN-GO. It’s a great series though I think the anime should have been longer to explore the main characters’ pasts – I felt that a lot of things were rushed  He’s one of my favourite characters from 2011, and the president likes the series, so I thought I’ll just slap him on 

The back actually isn’t finalised yet since I need to add in the sponsors, but I’m still waiting to find out who they are so this is what it looks like for now  I’m planning to make the profile box blank so people can draw in their own portrait (or something they like) to give it a more personal touch  I’m only going to draw the executives as we usually have around 200 members each year and people get their cards laminated during orientation week, so I definitely won’t have time to make individual cards 

Currently the program I like to use to draw with is PaintTool SAI. I used to wonder why people always raved about it, but after I’ve used it I became a fan of it too! It’s a very simple and light weight program to use. I especially love the linework layer too, it makes it so much easier to fix up my curves – I can just tweek an anchor point along the line to my needs  I used to use Photoshop, but ever since I got Windows 7 and CS5, it lags when I draw with my tablet 

I’ve still got the flyer and maybe badge designs to complete, so I’ve still got a lot of work to do  Unfortunately, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to drawing, so it takes me a long time to draw things as I’ll keep redrawing it until it looks perfect to me

Last Monday I hung out with V and we watched the second Sherlock movie. I really enjoyed it, I especially loved the ending!   Not going to spoil anything, but if you liked the first movie, I’m sure you’ll like the second one I really love crime/mystery/thriller themed media 

Not sure if anyone knows, but there’s a Sherlock tv series by the BBC which is about Sherlock Holmes solving crimes in the modern times. It’s totally brilliant  I’ve been following since it first aired and the second season just finished. There’s only 3 eps per season but they’re really good  I really recommend watching this series.

Anyways, like always we went to Capitol to play around with the UFO catchers  Nothing like being with someone who’s good at playing with those machines lol  And I actually won something for once 

I won this strap, but V also won one so we traded them in for a Rilakkuma necklace 

And he won me these lol  Ciel from Kuroshitsuji (I really like the outfit designs from this series) and a disgruntled squirrel (or is it a raccoon? ). That animal’s supposed to be like a cleaner or something, so I thought it was funny coz there was a dust bunny on it’s head (I’m so lame) 

For dinner we went to Mamak  The satay and drink that I ordered was really nice but the curry was toooo strong for me I can eat some chilly, like kimchi is fine, but oh boy – this was too spicy for me lol  Reminds me of why I usually don’t eat Malaysia food 

The next day I went out with my highschool friends and we ate at Oiden  It’s like a cheap Japanese rice place, though usually I prefer to eat at their noodle section  Decently priced and delicious is good news for my wallet and stomach

This is the present that I got him  I actually wasn’t sure what to get him but I know he likes building things and I’m into gundams so I hope he liked it lol  I always think it’s hard to buy presents. I want to get people things that they want hopefully keep LOL

I’m actually pretty wary about posting my face on the internet, I’m pretty big on privacy which is why I rarely post my whole face in photos. To me there’s sort of a line between internet life and real life lol  Yeh, I know it’s kinda weird since I like to blog 

And while I’m at it, here are my resolutions/goals for 2012

I (unfortunately) have really overspent in 2011 and so my bank account is feeling very drained  I wish I wasn’t such an impulse buyer! I’m pretty lazy when semester starts so I only worked one shift a week, yet I still went out a lot  But that’s what the summer holikdays are for right? haha 

I went into the city today hoping to score some bargains but I didn’t buy anything  Why? Coz the city, malls and shops were all jam packed I’m not sure if Boxing Day sales happen around the world but my friend said it’s similar to Black Friday sales in the U.S. It’s the first time I’ve seen the city so full lol, really like the phrase “sardines in a tin” It was total chaos trying to walk around the Westfield and Zara, so I didn’t bother to attempt to enter Myer 

Anyways, the main point of going to the city today was to get my haircut  I went to Hanavie again, I think that it’s my fav salon atm. This was my second time going there but I like their service I like the way my hair turned out today This time I just asked to turn my fringe into a side fringe and for my hair to be more layered

And if you can’t guess from my previous photo, for lunch, my sister and I ate at Pepper Lunch I just ordered the beef dish this time round  I like how you can cook the meat lol

I can’t believe that it’s going to be 2012 in a few days. Anyone have plans for the New Years? I’m going to be working on New Years Eve and on the 1st lol, so I don’t have any big plans. I’ll rather work and earn money 

This time round I only ordered 2 items. Even though they stock a lot of awesome items, I’m trying to curb my spending lol  Though many thanks to my dad buying them for me

I ordered an iPhone4(s) cover by HbG and a Rilakkuma 2012 monthly scheduler 

When I saw this iPhone cover, I knew I had to get it though I still haven’t gotten my iPhone 4s  (I’m still waiting for my current contract to expire lol  ). Isn’t it really cute? I love the HgG brand though their things are a bit expensive 

This is a hard shell cover which is fairly easy to remove, with green along the side. I’m just hoping that it won’t crack easily. I had that problem with iPhone 3Gs hard covers, cracking along the corners  Though it maybe also be due to me constantly dropping my phone.. 

I’m a bit disappointed that the iPhone4s isn’t compatible with iPhone 4 covers unless there’s a gap on the side. It makes it harder to get covers unless the shop posts side views of the cover  So this is another reason why I got it. Cute + compatible = instant win! I’m the type of person who hardly updates or changes their wallpaper, phone covers etc unless I find something that sparks me to change them, so I have a feeling I’ll be using this cover for a long time

I’m a pretty bad person when it comes to keeping diaries/planners, so for next year I thought I’ll just purchase a monthly scheduler  I just wanted something to jot down important events, and I like having a monthly view so I can see when important dates are approaching

There’s no weekly pages in this, so don’t buy it if that’s what you’re after. It has monthly pages, notes (with 2 different patterns), address and cash book sections. It also has things like Japanese train lines and palm reading stuff, but that’s not really useful to me lol

I also like this because it’s A5 sized I usually think Korean/Japanese planners are a bit too small. I think when you write in English, it takes up more room? lol 

This scheduler is really cute, I love all the illustrations I think if you’re a fan of San-x characters, their planners are a must have

Overall I’m really happy with my purchase at Strapya World! It’s been 2 years since I’ve ordered from there, but I’m glad I bought from there this time lol  I think they don’t over charge for their items. I think a problem with buying things such as brands as San-x is that stores will hike up the price since they have to import the products etc.
